A member asked:

Is it possible to be allergic to cats and still have a cat as a pet?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on situation: Allergy to cat dander can be expressed with mild symptoms such as itchy eyes & a runny nose or as bad as triggering hives or an asthma attack. While mild symptoms would be acceptable to some & manageable, others would find the situation too hard to deal with.Meds can help but may not help enough.
