Fertility specialist: The usual guideline is trying for 1 year, or 6 months if you are 36 years or older. Speaking for myself and most fertility specialists, i never make ayone wait, we're glad to speak with you anytime you'd like.

3-6 months.: Depending on your age; if you are in your 20's try for 6-12 months on your own first. If you are in your late 30's or 40's you may not want to wait for more than 3 months.
