When is one given a morphine pump?

What kind of pump?: Spinal or IV morphine. Spinal(intrathecal) pumps are used for non-radiating body pain of various types. Iv pumps may be used of acute or chronic pain requiring systemic analgesia such as for post-op or cancer pain.
