Is thrombocytopenia purpura as the same as blood dyscrasia?

Different: Thrombocytopenic purpura (ttp) is an acute condition involving destruction of blood components including red cells and platelets and can be life threatening. Blood dyscrasia is a general term referring to a chronic or inherited blood compnent disorder such as hemophilia, leukemia, thalassemia, etc.

No: In a blood dyscrasia (an old-fashioned term), the blood contains very abnormal formed elements. In idiopathic / autoimune thrombocytopenic purpura, antibodies cause destruction of nice platelets. In thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, lack / suppression of a factor for stopping blood microclotting causes devastatic problems despite normal foremed elements.
