is walking or jogging better for you?

Depends on…: Your weight/bmi & physical conditioning & status of hip, knee, & ankle joints. Walking has less forceful impact on those joints, especially if overweight. If bmi is 18-25 & no history of hip/knee/ankle injury, try jogging.

Is it normal that my baby isn't walking yet?

Yes: The average age for walking is 9-15 months. If your child is not walking by age 18 months, that is different enough that your doctor will recommend having an evaluation to see if there is a cause for this delay and consider beginning physical therapy to help your child reach this milestone.
A member asked:

When will my baby learn to walk?

Dr. Michael Amster

12 to 15 months: Children want to check out their world starting around 6 months, and by 9 months are able to crawl around. By 12 months, that just doesn't cut it, and they pull up on objects and cruise. We expect babies to walk between 12 and 15 months, though of course some will walk by 9 or 10 months, and some won't by 15 mo. A lot depends on the drive and gross development of the child.

When will my baby begin walking?

Usually Around Age 1: Most infants are either cruising (walking holding on to someone's hand or furniture) or walking by age 1. Though that is the norm, development varies for each child. Many children do not walk until 15 to 18 months, and some infants walk as early as 9 months. So try not to stress the timing of milestones and if you do have concerns, talk to your pediatrician.

Is walking better for fat burning than jogging?

My personal bias: I think walking is a better choice 'for the long haul'. A brisk walk is great cardiovascular exercise with much less wear and tear on your joints.
