I had a meningioma and the doctors say i don't need any more scans. is that the normal protocol?

Yes: If the tumor was removed, and your surgeon felt that the whole tumor was removed, then it is reasonable to withhold imaging studies. If you have new symptoms localized to the area of surgery, then i would repeat the scan.
