Rare, but watch for: ...Upset stomach, nausea, and loose stools. Headache has been reported as well. Some patients experience hair loss, which is temporary and will grow back when this drug is stopped. If you have the gastrointestinal symptoms, we recommend small meals, good mouth care, sucking on sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum. Elmiron (pentosan) is generally well tolerated by patients with rare adverse effects.
