10 days ago started elmiron (pentosan) and tamulosin for prostatitis . first week felt good. almost free from pain! but 3 days ago it all came back. is it ok ?

Normal response: It takes few weeks for Flomax (tamsulosin) to see optimum benefits and few month for Elmirone to have effect in urinary bladder symptoms, Do not get disappointed. Continue with the medication for a longer time

Prostatitis: Elmiron is not indicated in treatment of prostatitis, either bacterial or non-bacterial. Flomax (tamsulosin) is only helpful in relaxing an enlarged ( and sometimes a swollen) prostate. I would suggest you see a urologist for accurate diagnosis and standard of care treatment options.
