Depends on the cause: Lots of different causes for hemolysis, some are "allergic", drug related, some are nutritional, some are related to other organ problems, some are due to genetic abnormalities in hemoglobin or red blood cell function. Rx depends on the underlying problem. Check with your doc.

Hemolysis: Hemolysis can be caused by a variety of factors. Depending on the cause, different treatments are indicated. A detailed history, physical exam and laboratory testing can often clarify the cause, after which appropriate treatment can be undertaken.

Depends on cause...: There are a number of causes for hemolysis. One of the most common is autoimmune hemolysis. This can be treated with steroids. Other causes of hemolysis can include medications (treatment is to discontinue medicine) and inherited defects in the red blood cell (g6pd deficiency, hereditary spherocytosis, sickle cell anemia - treatments are largely supportive).
