A member asked:

Is tetracycline used for ear infections?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ear infection: Yes, tetracycline can be used for ear infections if the perceived or cultured bacterial cause may be susceptible. However, it is rarely used because most bacteria that cause ear infections are resistant to tetracycline. It is not advisable to use tetracycline on children less than 8 years old because of tooth staining.
