Antibiotic: Antibiotics are used to treat bacterial infections. Tetracycline is an antibiotic which works for bacterial infections, not viral infections. Antibiotics do not help treat or cure viral infections. The best way to prevent viral infections today is through vaccination. Once infected with a virus, the treatments are usually symptomatic and geared towards symtpom relief, but not cure.
