Pediatricians: All pediatricians have training in development & behavior from birth-adolescence. My subspecialty, developmental/ behavioral pediatrics, came about, i think, when we started having time constraints imposed by managed care. Children with special health care needs & behavioral challenges & their families require extra time; my services augment, but do not replace pediatric care.
