No: It is always appropriate to ask about all your medical history. Past abortions can provide clues to your current problem or health status with respect to physical reasons for the abortion, any complications, bleeding/clotting issues, psychological history, social support systems, medical and social risk factors, etc. Don't feel offended - the doctor is trying to get a complete picture. :).
