Currently i have a sore throat because of tonsillitis. i went to the dr on monday and she also referred i should go for covid-19 test. i have done so on tuesday and awaiting results. i want to remove my tonsillitis ?

Got cash ?: The risk of complications is increased when tonsils are removed during tonsillitis. I also know of no 3rd party insurance that would cover the procedure because you want it. You must have had a specific number of infections/problems with it before they will. If you have plenty of cash to pay up front you may find a doc who will do it at some point. If your history qualifies you insurance may pay

Tonsillectomy: You need to meet criteria for a tonsillectomy. I don't know any doctors who would want to do surgery like that when you are actively ill.
