The Aspartame Danger: In the body, aspartame has been shown to reduce production of the powerful anti-oxidant glutathione in the brain, thus leaving the brain vulnerable to oxidative stress and neurodegenerative diseases (http://www.Ncbi.Nlm.Nih.Gov/pubmed/22385158). A study conducted in nyc recently found that regular consumption of diet drinks with aspartame increased the risk of heart attacks significantly.
