A member asked:

Can you drink occassional alcohol if you have chronic autoimmune hepatitis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sure. But a bad idea: I have to look at your question with a jaundiced eye. You are fighting for your life (or at least the life of your liver) but you are willing to compromise that for a momentary alcoholic high, is that right? Alcohol is toxic to everyone's liver but your liver, because it's sick, is far more vulnerable. You may survive but it will set your recovery back. Your decision but consider the consequences.
