Yes.: Nitrofurantoin, or "macrodantin" or "macrobid" is perfectly safe as a treatment for asymptomatic bacteriuria or urinary tract infections in pregnancy. It has a long record of use and is generally effective unless you have a resistant strain. Make sure you get a test of cure if you're pregnant.
