Pharmacist: You may want to to check with your pharmacist. Some Nitrofurantoin comes in a gel capsule that can not be crushed. You can take the medication you received. Show it to the pharmacist and they will be able to determine if taking it in an alternative way is acceptable.

YES: the taste is not pleasant however and must be washed down with water immediately! Hope this is helpful Dr Z
