A member asked:

What are the differences between humidifiers, steam inhalers and vaporizers?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Humidity/vapor: A humidifier is basically a fan that draws moisture from a paper or metallic wick & adds it to air in the room. A vaporizer makes a mist. Old style vaporizers have a heating element that boils water making steam, these are unsafe. Modern products use tuning fork technology & make light or heavy mist (vaporizers also humidify)they are safe & helpful when your heater dries out the air you sleep in.
