Live with them or: Live without them. If you can wear shoes with plenty of room in the forefoot, soft materials and good support, you may be able to get by a bit more comfortable. On infrequent occasion orthotics may help to a degree. By and large though, when bunions begin to hurt, they gradually get worse over time. When it gets to the point of interfering with your life, that's when it may be time for surgery.
