A member asked:

What illness causes fever, malaise, inflamed tonsils, elevated sgot, and sgpt?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rule out mono: This sounds like infectious mononucleosis -- epstein-barr, cmv, toxoplasmosis or -- if you are at risk -- acute hiv, a medical emergency. Your physician knows how to rule in or out drug allergy, the other important situation; or you may have a strep throat and some reason to have elevated sgot/sgpt, especially if you drink or are not a fitness buff.
