No: Singular is usually an add on therapy for copd. If you have seasonal allergies taking te drug in the fall or spring may work best but most patients should take singular yearlong due to it's abtiinflammatory effects in asthma.

Maybe: If your asthma is triggered by allergic materials which are seasonal, and your symptoms are seasonal only, the singulair (montelukast) taken daily in the season may help.

Sometimes: Singulair (montelukast) is a controller medication for asthma whose beneficial effects don't last for more than a few days. So take it when you need it. If you have seasonal asthma take it during the months when asthma is present. If you have perennial asthma that is always present then take it everyday. This is a good topic to discuss with your personal physician or asthma specialist.
