Diarrhea: If you have a normal immune system, you'll probably have diarrhea for about ten days, then get better. If you have advanced HIV disease, you could develop serious chronic diarrhea. In that cas, treating your HIV to improve your imme function is the best treatment.

Cryptosporidiosis: Possibly nothing. Cryptosporidiosis is infection w cryptosporidium parasites that embed in small intestine walls. Sx's usually begin 2 to 10 days after exposure (ave of 7 days) w watery diarrhea, abdominal pain/cramps, nausea, vomiting, fever, weight loss & dehydration that resolve w/in 1 to 2 wks. Cryptosporidium dx: acid-staining test of stool or biopsied intestinal tissue & enzyme immunoassays
