Sprain/strain: Whiplash is a non medical terminology. It represents an acceleration/deceleration injury to the neck. Commonly referred to as neck sprain/strain. But with acceleration/deceleration injuries fractures and fracture dislocatio, subluxation of facets may occur, representing more serious injuries. Following these type of accidents you should be fully evaluated by a physician.
