A member asked:

What help is available for someone who wants to be treated for an eating disorder without going to her primary care doctor?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Eating: Yes - check the phonebook or internet for local specialists )phychologists, psychiatrists) that have expertise in this area. Really though you should also tell your primary care doctor. Eating disorders affect your entire body. Your doctor can not do his/her job well without your trust and full disclosure. Doctors keep your information private.
