Repeat PID: Repeat PID is fairly common. Fallopian tube scarring with the first episode can allow bacterial to take hold again and cause PID again, sometimes due to normal vaginal bacteria; or reexposure to gonorrhea or chlamydia. So you and your sex parnter(s) need STD testing, but results often are negative. Carefully follow doc's advice about treatment and follow-up. Good luck!
