Can shingles be passed to my newborn if he was held by someone infected with shingles?

Shingles=hibernation: Shingles occur when the chickenpox virus that infected someone in childhood decides to come out of hibernation causing painful breakouts on the skin. Your newborn might get chickenpox if debris from the shingles got to baby, but the person doesn't spread it in saliva or sneeze. Baby likely has protection from the virus if you had CP as a kid. Babies don't have shingles as a first infection.
