Bloodwork: Celiac disease is usually screened for (in the right patient) with blood tests. Depending on the results of these blood tests, you may be referred to a gastroenterologist to get a biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. You have to be on a regular diet (not gluten-free!) for these tests to be valid.
