IF MRI was indicated: If your insurance program requires preauthorization, that must be done before the exam is performed in order for the MRI to be reimbursed. Otherwise, assuming the insurance company covers the particular MRI study you had and paperwork was submitted properly, the exam should be reimbursed. Fiinally, it is important that the clinical symptoms match the type of MRI being ordered.
