Different causes: Verruca is a virus and manifests itself on the bottom of the foot (plantar wart). Symptoms associated with this are pain on palpation, generally lateral compression, small tiny pin-point hemorrhages, and can disguise itself as a callus. Athlete's foot (t. Pedis) is caused by a fungus and manifests itself typically as red, itchy, scaling, burning and occasionally blisters on the bottom of feet.

Several: Athletes foot often occurs between the toes and the skin becomes red, macerated and itchy, sometimes with small fluid filled blisters. Warts are usually hard and have pain when pressed directly on them and pressed side to side. Often warts will have small black heads in the middle of them.
