No: No. Inflammation on the breast will not cause breast cancer. However, one will need to be very careful and need to be able to differentiate between inflammation to the breast and inflammatory breast cancer- which is a type of very agressive breast cancer which is presented with a red, swollen-puckered- breast with thickening of the skin over the breast that mimic inflammation.

Not directly: Breast inflammation does not cause breast cancer. Hoeever, there is a rare form of breast cancer called inflammatory breast cancer that can cause diffuse swelling and redness of the skin of the breast. Needs a physical examination with a doctor & mammogram.
