No: Heartburn is a symptom of acid reflux. Gerd, or acid reflux can present with other symptoms such as voice changes, coughing or abdominal pain.

Really the same: Some doctors may call more regular episodes of heartburn acid reflux disease i.e. Daily as opposed to episodic heartburn that you get from eating too much pizza.
