What is the difference between an asd and a vsd in terms of treatment?

Not much : Asds and vsds, in otherwise healthy children, will often close on their own, so neither one usually needs treatment. In more complex cases, pediatric heart specialists have several procedures they can perform to close defects which do not resolve on their own.
