My son was born preterm at 31 weeks and 2 days of pregnancy. after 2 months of birth, we took echo test which showed fossas ovalis asd 3.12mm and pda 0.5mm. do they close on their own? how long should we wait before treatment,he is 2 months old now ?

Often do/wait : When/if this does not close on its own (probably will) they often wait until school age to fix these.They are seldom a problem.

Two different things: There are two different things to consider here - the PDA and the ASD . At this age, I would be more concerned about the PDA. It is small, but even small ones can shunt too much blood. The ASD is very likely to close on its own and not be a problem. I would follow closely with a pediatric cardiologist regarding the PDA.
