A 37-year-old member asked:
what does my elevated /fast heart rate mean for my health?

Depends on the cause: Hearts beat fast, generally, for a reason. Do you have fever? Anemia? Infection? Pain? Upset? Bleeding? Stress? Caffeine use? Are you overweight, out of shape, de-conditioned? These and many more reasons may be the cause. Unless your hr is >150, it's likely that the rate is a symptom and not the cause of changes in your health.

I have an unusually fast heart rate for unusually long periods of time. What is wrong with me?

Not sure: That depends on how fast the heart rate is and exactly what the rhythm is as determined by an ekg. There may be nothing wrong with you. Maybe your thyroid is overactive. There are just a lot of possibilities so you need evaluation by a physician.

Are pvcs more dangerous if you only have them with a fast heart rate sometimes big and trig pvcs?

Atrial Fibrillation: Alcohol consumption, especially chronic is associated with atrial fibrillation. You need medical attention -- can be dangerous. Some people can be converted to normal rhythm with medications or clinical maneuvers, some need to be electrically cardioverted. Some need anticoagulant medications while the situation is being assessed and afterwards.

No: Pvcs in and of themselves do not cause a rapid heart rate. However, a rapid heart rate may make pvcs or the sensation of palpitations more noticeable.

Any remedies for a fast heart rate I can try at home?

Not really: The differential diagnosis of tachycardia (rapid heart rate) is broad and is dependent on the rhythm your hear is in. There are some serious causes so i would advise you to see your primary care provider about this to determine the cause and therapy.
