Merits evaluation.: A persistently high heart rate while at rest might reflect an underlying neuroendocrine problem. Hyperthyroidism is a common cause. Infections can cause it. Other causes are less common. It would be advisable for you to see your doctor or perhaps a cardiologist or an endocrinologist.
