Resistance training: In men and women, resistance training (lifting weights) will build muscles....More in men than women. Stronger muscles tend to burn more calories that weaker muscles even when you are not using them...That helps reduce fat. Lifting with proper form to the point of momentary failure seems to be the best way to get the muscles to respond.

High weight low reps: First of all, always perform slow movements and keep your form strict. Higher weights to allow only six to eight reps per set will stimulate muscle growth. Three or four sets each of three exercises per muscle group. Work each muscle group once weekly.
