A member asked:

I was diagnosed with genital herpes today. it really hurts when i urinate what can i do? ps i am a female even though my profile says male!

Genital herpes: Primary (first episode) genital herpes can be much more severe than episodes with relapse in the future (if they occur). Ulcers can be associated with pain on urination and can precipitate urinary retention. Appropriate antiviral treatment with Acyclovir or valacyclovir should help healing.
