A member asked:

Can herpes be transmitted directly from the urine stream of one person to an open cut on the genitals/anus of another person? ie "water sports"

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Herpes and sports: Herpes sores have viruses and can spread through contact sports like Greco-Roman wrestling. Water sports are unlikely to cause one's viruses to enter the skin of a teammate or competitor... so the answer is NO. However, many things are possible in life (some say all things are possible). In reality, pee or water would wash viruses off of a person's skin, especially a pressurized pee stream.
