Can be: The nerves that innervate the feet come from the spine (back). You didn't describe what the "trouble was". Sometimes, this can be numbness or tingling. Also, if you are flatfooted this does put strain on the back so there could be a correlation that way as well.

Possibly: I am assuming you had foot or ankle surgery in march. This is likely to be related but without examining you and hearing about the possible complication, it is difficult to know for sure.
