What is the difference between open patella and a closed patella knee brace?

A hole: There is an opening or a hole for your patella to be seen thru, like a window. In a closed one the brace is a solid piece and the patella is covered with the rest of the knee.
Created for people with ongoing healthcare needs but benefits everyone.
