Many: Depending on the nature of your problems orthopedist use the same dressing as most surgical specialist. One exception may be the usage of casts to address fractures. Or braces, ace bandages, and slings.

It varies from surg-: -eon 2 surgeon.. they can be dry gauze, betadine gauze, telfa, liquid sealant over the sutures or staples, vasciline gauze and others, so ther is no standard.

Varies: Varies tremendously based upon the diagnosis. A dressing can be used to be a barrier, to aid in healing, to treat an infection, as a modality to try to reduce swelling, and in conjunction with a cast or splint; all based upon the condition needing the dressing.
