How effective is a steroid injection for rotator cuff syndrome in the shoulder?

Cortisone injection: Used frequently for impingement syndrome, cortisone injections are valuable in many ways. 1, they can assist in diagnosis. If injection helps pain, it confirms diagnosis. 2, they are prognostic. Best response to injection correlates with surgical result. 3, they can be therapeutic, particularly in absence of full thickness tear.
