Effect on the body: You can be intolerant or react to gluten containing products with cramping, diarrhea, hives , etc. If this occurs and your blood test and or intestinal biopsy are positive for tissue damage markers, anti-intestinal antibodies you have celiac. A negative set of blood tests/biopsy suggest just intolerance. Both issues are complex and the rational approach to management is the same, avoid gluten.
