Hb A1c test: A1c measures % of hemoglobin in blood which has glucose (blood sugar) attached to it. Normal for someone without diabetes should be around 4% or less. 7% is considered good control with diabetes. Too high (8% or above) increases risk of complications. If test was done for screening (not already on treatment for diabetes), your diabetes may be controllable with strict lifestyle changes. Good luck!
