A member asked:

What is the cause of facial pimples, those that we see on so many people?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Complex: It's a complex interplay of a strain of bacteria, increased keratin on the skin surface, and extra sebum production. The androgenic hormones that cause the latter two tend to be higher in men, both both sexes have an increase around puberty. Today, no one should have to endure bad acne; medications can manage almost all cases.
