Blood Poisoning?: Toe infections can lead to extension of the infection to other tissues, into the blood stream and lymphatics and potentially can prove fatal, particularly in diabetics. It will often lead to the necessity for surgical removal of the toe and possibly more of that extremity.

Yes: Blood poisoning or sepssis can occur after an infection, whether or not you are a diabetic.

Yes: I think by blood poisoning you are referring to septicemia. Diabetics usually have worse infections than a non diabetic so they are more susceptible to a worse infectious process particularly if they are uncontrolled diabetics or if they 'didn't seek treatment right away because of not knowing they had a problem due to neuropathy. It is possible but not common.
