Manic episodes include an inflated sense of self worth, decreased need for sleep, increased activiety. Manic Depressive : Mania and melancholia, manic-depressive, bipolar are all the evolutions of a diagnosis. There is a spectrum of changes from extreme low moods to high extremes which is episodic, some time clearly distinct other times mixed phases can occur. Timely treatment can prevent severe damage.
