Broadly defined, yes: The most common form of clots in the lung are pulmonary emboli, which may be caused by vascular processes on the venous side of the circulation. Phlebitis of the large veins in the legs or pelvis (especially in women who have experienced childbirth), precipitated by inactivity, hormone therapy, occlusion, or clotting disorders can increase risk. Variety of prevention & treatment strategies exist.
