See below: Ercp, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, is a procedure where the patient is sedated and in the endoscopy suite, a long flexible tube is placed thru the mouth under x-ray guidance. It is maneuvered to the beginning of the small intestine, where the opening to the bile and pancreatic duct is. A catheter is inserted and x-rays are done. Depending on the findings, there are other options.
